After 49 days of war against Israel, 24 Hamas hostages were released on Friday. Relatives are overjoyed about the return of their loved ones.
Yoni Asher is a prominent figure in the organization that affects families of Hamas hostages. It was founded shortly after the Hamas attack on Israel.
Regarding the successful release of hostages, he told the Times of Israel: “My family (…) has returned to my home. I would like to thank the Israeli army, government (…) and all those who were involved in this work.”
His thanks also go to “all Israelis and families of the hostages who are committed to the return of everyone.”
Asher is very happy that he has his family back during the Israel War. “But I won’t celebrate until the last hostage is back.” After all, there are still people “whose hearts are broken during this time.”
With regard to his own family, the Israeli says: “I am determined to help my family recover from this terrible trauma.” But “there are still difficult days ahead of me.”
