Hormone therapy during menopause slows down cognitive decline. But this does not apply to all women. It is still too early to use this as a therapeutic strategy.
“Finally something positive is being reported about hormones!” That was Petra Stute’s first comment on that recently published study the Universities of Norwich and Edinburgh. Stute is a gynecologist and heads the menopause center at Inselspital Bern. The study found that hormone therapy during menopause is associated with a lower risk of Alzheimer’s.
