Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Care Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Kasr Al-Ainy, says that women in their forties are exposed to chest pains, which increases the fear of a heart problem, and in most cases it is the cause of menopause.

“Mwafi” explains through the Bab Al-Khalq program broadcast on Al-Nahar channel, that chest pain in menopausal women is more dangerous than exposure to clots, due to the difficulty of convincing the patient that she does not have a chest problem, and the patient’s refusal to respond to treatment, which helps exacerbate the problem.

The Professor of Critical Care Medicine indicates that it is possible to differentiate between chest pain resulting from angina or menopause by the nature, duration and degree of the pain that the patient feels, and when performing a normal electrocardiogram and an electrocardiogram with effort, and the results are normal and commensurate with age and health status, in those cases. The case does not need to undergo an advanced medical examination such as catheterization.

Mowafi asserts that the cause of chest pain that occurs in women at that stage is the hormonal changes that occur in the body that cause feelings of sadness and mood changes, and lead to organic pain such as chest pain and joint pain.

How can you deal with women in menopause?

Mowafi says that women in that period need care and attention and understand that what they are going through is out of their control, but rather due to the changes that occur to them, and they also need to do some advice that helps them to overcome that period, such as:

Eat healthy and balanced meals.

– Getting rid of excess weight.

Sleeping enough hours.

Take nutritional supplements that reduce the severity of your symptoms.

Exercise regularly.

Avoid exposure to stress or tension.
