Baim Wong had said that he was a victim of phishing or hacking via the WhatsApp application. After many days, Baim Wong suddenly received a notification that his account had been transferred to several unknown accounts.
It started when Baim Wong received a message from an unknown person. The person claimed to be a package courier.
“Recently, I actually experienced a disaster. Last week, I received WhatsApp from a number I didn’t recognize. The sender claimed to be a package courier and in the chat he sent a photo of the package in the form of a file and coincidentally I was also ordering goods via online,” he said Baim Wong in the video he uploaded on his social media, seen Friday (3/11/2023).
Baim Wong admitted that he was not careful and immediately clicked on the file sent by a person who claimed to be a package courier. However, after clicking there is a process that occurs.
“Well, I don’t care, I just clicked because I confirmed my package. And strangely what appeared was a loading screen for a few moments,” he said.
Paula Verhoeven’s husband admitted that he had become suspicious. However, due to his busy schedule, he ignored his suspicions.
“I was actually a bit suspicious because I had some work to complete at that time, so I chose to ignore these suspicions because of time problems,” admitted Baim Wong.
“But after going on for days, finally yesterday I was shocked by several bank transfer notifications that I received. A certain amount of money had been transferred from one of my accounts to another account that I didn’t know,” continued Baim Wong, opening up about the impact that occurred because of him. ignoring his suspicions.
As a result, Baim Wong immediately contacted the bank to block his account. Baim Wong found out what he experienced via the internet.
“And there I immediately contacted the bank and decided to block my account. Curious about what was happening, I tried searching on the internet. My fear grew even bigger when the incident I experienced was very similar to the fraud method via WhatsApp,” he said.
“The method is to use the file message feature, there are also those who send promos and OTP codes. So there are even those who act on behalf of government agencies by sending electronic ticket files which turn out to be Malware and there are already victims, so their accounts are drained by billions,” said Baim Wong.
Baim Wong believes he is the victim of this irresponsible person. After blocking the account, Baim Wong also checked the financial services he used one by one.
“I felt like I was a victim of hacking by an irresponsible party, I decided to immediately block my account. I checked the financial services on my cellphone one by one and I changed all the passwords,” said Baim Wong.
