How to deal with the shortage of teachers in France and elsewhere?

National Education in France is struggling to recruit. This year in competitions, 4,000 positions have not been filled, according to the ministry. This phenomenon of teacher shortage is not specific to France, but to many countries in Europe and elsewhere.

In sub-Saharan Africa, despite progress over the past five years*, the shortage of teachers persists. An additional 11 million teachers would need to be recruited to ensure quality education for all students. Remuneration, support for teachers, career plan… What levers can be used to make the teaching profession attractive again?
