How to schedule an email to be sent in Gmail

On Gmail, it is possible to schedule the sending of messages for later. Here are the different steps to take advantage of this feature.

Connect, write and program

First step, open Gmail on a computer. Then, click on the “New message” icon located at the top left of the window.

Second step: write a message. Once the message is written, just press the little down arrow, located to the left of the “Send” button, and select “Other options”. A “Schedule sending” option then appears.

Note that if the user uses a time zone when scheduling the send, the email will be sent according to this setting. Another detail, scheduled emails may be sent a few minutes after the scheduled time.

Edit a scheduled message

To edit or cancel a scheduled message from Gmail, just go to the left panel and click on “Scheduled”.

Next, the user should select the email they want to edit and tap on “Undo Send”, at the top right of the message. Following this, it is possible to modify an e-mail as desired.

To reschedule the sending, it will be necessary to click again on the small down arrow, located at the bottom left, next to the “Send” option. After selecting “Schedule sending”, it will be possible to choose a new date and time.

Cancel sending a scheduled message

To cancel a programmed sending, it is exactly the same procedure as to modify it.

You have to go to the left panel of Gmail and click on “Scheduled”. Next, the user can choose the email they want to unsend and tap on “Unsend”, at the top right of the message. Note that when a user cancels the scheduled sending of a message, it does not disappear completely. It resumes the draft state.
