The application Messages (Messages) gained some new features with the arrival of the latest versions of Apple’s operating systems — more precisely, iOS/iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma 14.

One of them is the so-called Search filters (Search filters)whose objective is to allow you to find the content you want with even greater accuracy — such as text, a link or a person.

See how to optimize its use in practice and find exactly what you’re looking for! ????????

To get started, open the Messages app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Then tap or click the search bar. In certain cases, you will need to pull down the conversation bar for it to appear.

Then, start typing what you are looking for. When you do this, a filter appears below the search, indicating that you can add it to aid your search. To do this, just tap/click on it.

If you want, you can limit the search to a person or conversation, simply typing their name, then selecting “Messages with” or “Messages in” and tapping/clicking on another displayed search criteria. To combine more than one criteria, add another term or search filter.
