Huawei Watch D3 Brings Cuff Blood Pressure Monitoring to European Wrists

Huawei Watch D3 sells for 7,999 Czech crowns on the Czech market, offering mechanical blood pressure tracking via a built-in wrist cuff. The device measures systolic and diastolic pressure using an oscilometric method similar to a standard domestic arm monitor.

The International Society for Hypertension and the Emirates Cardiac Society held their 31st scientific meeting in Dubai from October 22 to 25, 2026, where Huawei showcased the new model. Professor George Stergiou, chairman of the ISH, described the device as innovative and reliable, noting it provides insight into blood pressure profiles and patterns.

Hardware Specifications and Design Compromises

The aluminum alloy body measures 46.5 by 41 by 11.3 millimeters and weighs approximately 40 grams. The display spans 1.92 inches with a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, doubling the output of the predecessor Watch D2.

Measurements require a specific strap containing an inflatable airbag connected to an internal pump. The package includes two cuff sizes: size M for wrists measuring 13 to 16 centimeters, and size L for wrists spanning 16.1 to 21 centimeters. The stiff strap presses against tables during computer work, requiring users to loosen or reposition the band throughout the day.

Clinical Certification and Daily Application

The European Union grants the Watch D3 a medical device certification for single measurements, all-day monitoring, and pre- or post-exercise checks. Professor Wang Jiguang, chairman of the Chinese Hypertension League, stated that innovations like minimally disruptive 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and environment reminders can inspire automated management in daily life.

The device carries an IP68 rating for rain and splashes, but the manufacturer explicitly advises removing the hardware before swimming, diving, hot showers, and saunas, leaving water damage outside warranty coverage.

Market Availability and Pricing

The device is available on the Czech market with an entry price of 7,999 Czech crowns. The inflatable bladder inside the cuff functions as a consumable component that undergoes wear from daily friction and will require eventual replacement.
