Hundreds of teachers took to the streets in Bariloche to demand a better salary offer from the Province

A large column of teachers mobilized this Monday through the streets of Bariloche on the first day of the strike called by Unter coinciding with the start of classes, and which will last until Wednesday.

LThe mobilization ended at noon at the door of the Ipross, in the middle of Miter street, where teachers expressed severe criticism of the lack of health benefits from the provincial social work.

The general secretary of the union in this city, Adriana Lizaso, said that they went on strike -among other reasons- because the government “presents isolated proposals, only focused on wages, and it does not respond to the long list of claims presented by Unter a year ago. Not everything is wages, it also goes through health, school infrastructure, the situation of retirees”.

The leader assured that compliance with the strike was almost total and she estimated it at 99%. In relation to salary, he stressed that the increase proposal is insufficient “Because I would leave the basic at 138,000 pesos with rents that are at 100,000 pesos.”

More than 300 educators participated in the mobilization, including some from El Bolsón. Through the megaphone, at the time of the speeches, leaders of different groups passed, including those that lost the last election of the local section of Unter.

Lizaso said that at the union headquarters they found a card some time ago, in the library, which shows that Governor Arabela Carreras, when she was a teacher, withdrew borrowed books more than once. She “she took books on education and liberation, but it leaves our wages below the poverty line. It seems that he did not understand anything,” Lizaso accused.

“The government is responsible for this conflict because it makes ridiculous proposals. Teachers want to work, ”he said.

Before converging at Ipross, the teachers had gathered at the union headquarters on Elflein street and then leafleted on the corner of Onelli and Moreno. Some of the flyers warned about the building situation in various schools where “there is no water, the roofs are raining, there are boilers and heaters that do not work, and dining rooms are not guaranteed.”

Also They accused the government of being responsible for the Ipross situation, “which no longer covers studies or simple interventions, nor guarantees reimbursements.”

historical claims

A retired teacher, Marcela Cano, spoke about the “historic claims” in relation to social work. “Every time we contribute more and we have less coverage -said-. We are used to it being the box without surrender of the province, government after government.

Lizaso recalled that the union claim not only aims to achieve a better recomposition of wages, but also to disappearance of black sums, which defund Ipross and the retirement fund.

He said that with the scheme proposed by the government in the jointthese sums, instead of being reduced, would be increased towards the end of the year “to go from 50% to 70%” of the total salary.

Lizaso called on all teachers to participate in the resolution assembly tomorrow at 9, which will be in person, unlike the previous ones, to define the continuity of the “fight plan”, and in preparation for the Unter congress that will be held on Wednesday in Bariloche.
