Hydro-Québec makes a record acquisition in New England

Hydro-Québec announced on Wednesday the acquisition of Great River Hydro, which was previously owned by investment fund ArcLight Capital Partners. The 13 hydroelectric generating stations are located on the Connecticut and Deerfield rivers.

By way of comparison, the Manic-5 generating station has an installed capacity of 1,596 megawatts, while that of Carillon, on the Ottawa River, has an installed capacity of 753 megawatts.
