“I arrived at the exhibition at the Expo and paid NIS 95 for an hour and a quarter of parking”

What has not been written about the cost of living in Israel: high prices in housing, food products and services, and a decreasing level of government services in the fields of education and health.

An average family prepares for high expenses during the holiday – tidying up, buying gifts and clothes, vacations and attractions. To these expenses must be added parking prices from Emirim, especially in the city centers and close to attractions and entertainment, the price of which is high to begin with.

For example, the guests of the flower exhibition at the Expo in Tel Aviv found out that they paid an amount of NIS 95 for parking for an hour and a quarter. In one of the consumer groups on Facebook last night surfers complained about the expensive prices.

“I’m back from there now. A beautiful exhibition for the price of a board. If you don’t come with children, then you can finish in an hour or so,” writes one of the surfers. “But the parking!!!! It’s just theft. 95 shekels for an hour and a bit. It’s just rude. It needs to be publicized so that even those who have already bought a ticket will be careful.”

Another surfer points out that “we just got back from there…parking cost NIS 95 for an hour and a quarter. A real steal.” While one of the other visitors said that “the parking lot at the Expo is planned to charge everyone 119 shekels regardless of the actual time the vehicle was in the parking lot. Losing a ticket costs 80. Pay attention to the successful method and if you go, be careful not to be stung.”

Another surfer said that “I was at a huge flower exhibition in the Netherlands in August. It was open to the public. I didn’t pay for organized parking or entry to the exhibition. On the contrary, they tried to make it pleasant for the visitors of the exhibition and made sure to pamper them. They issue a coupon for everything here.”

It should be noted that this is a complex owned by a municipal company of the Municipality of Tel Aviv which is supposed to see and serve the needs of the public.

An attempt to find the price list on the expo website was unsuccessful, and correspondence with the service bot on the website also did not provide the desired result, meaning that those who want to prepare in advance and decide where to park will not be able to do so, and will have to make the decision when they are already in a car full of offspring at the entrance to the parking lot. For example, there are other cheaper parking lots near the expo, for example at Shlomo Hall at an estimate of NIS 40 per day, or a nearby urban parking lot of the Beach Estates where there is a 75% discount for Tel Aviv residents.
