It couldn’t get any weirder.
The Dobry Cola brand continues to play on its own and release new flavors. The last time Caramel Coke came out, it turned out to be one of the most disgusting and cloying drinks in the history of mankind. But now Dobry is encroaching on a new segment, namely the seasonal niche.
It’s not just that stores are already filled with the standard version of “Good Cola” in New Year’s decorations. No, now there is also a gingerbread flavored version, and the bottle is decorated with a traditional Christmas gingerbread man, like in Shrek. What kind of drink is this and can I take it? Now we’ll tell you.
Keep in mind that the gingerbread is a “Good” initiative. There is no such taste in the Coca-Cola line. It was exactly the same with caramel and, apparently, The Coca-Cola Company did not produce such soda for a very good reason. But it’s always fun to try something experimental.
The smell of the drink is surprisingly mild. Without unnecessary notes and surprises. But the same cannot be said about the taste. Ginger and gingerbread are indeed present there, but they seem to be separated in time. First there are ginger descriptors, and then, when you’ve been away from the bottle for about ten seconds, the cinnamon bitterness catches up with you. The pungency itself is felt rather weakly – it is clogged by ginger and cinnamon.
If you really need to recreate this taste in your head, imagine this situation: someone poured a slightly weathered cola into an unwashed mug from which they had previously drunk cinnamon coffee. The drink is highly not recommended for those who have heartburn, because calling “Good Cola” with gingerbread a refreshing drink will not work even with the utmost desire.

is it so bad? Actually, not really. First of all, to be fair, I drank this cola with three other people, and the opinions were equally divided. But the fact is that there were those who checked out the gingerbread and would even prefer it to the regular version of “Good Cola”. Secondly, there is no cacophonous caramel cola, which immediately takes you into a chokehold, hits you in the gut and curses in your ear for another minute. Gingerbread soda is more drinkable than you’d expect from the flavor.
Probably, Dobry would have won more if he had just made ginger cola, which sounds really interesting and tasty. Here the cinnamon takes on too much, and at room temperature it becomes wildly bitter. So be careful when you take this cola. But this is still not an insult to feelings, but a very specific drink for those who like specific tastes.
