Today, Maxim Drozd has more than a hundred film roles to his credit. He appears on the screen in the images of strong and stern men. The physical form of the 55-year-old artist can only be envied.
He is a candidate master of sports in boxing. In his youth, he fully gave his military duty to his homeland – he served in the Airborne Forces. At the same time, people who know the actor closely speak of him as a person who is sensitive and deeply religious.

Maxim grew up in a special family. Father – People’s Artist of Ukraine Georgy Drozd. Mom Lyudmila Kurortnik – also in the past an actress, a big lover of skits, was known as a sort of socialite. And then she completely changed her life – she devoted it to faith.
Maxim managed to enter the Moscow Art Theater School on a course to Vanguard Leontiev. While still a student, he played his first film role – in the drama “Afghan”. And just two years after graduation, Drozd disappeared from the creative environment for a long 15 years.
He recalls that he was not happy: “Life forced me out of the profession. There was a family, children, responsibility. And the salary in the theater was small. I had to think about how to make money. But I suffered a lot because of it. There was not a day that I did not think about the cinema, about the theater.
It is painful to leave the acting profession, it is even more difficult to return to it. But Maxim succeeded. Again, Drozd began to act as a completely mature person.
“My father pushed me to return. In his eyes, I saw regret that his son did not become an actor,– Maxim says. But where Drozd did not enter the search for himself. Even to the monastery.
“It was a mistake”
In the monastery, Drozd expected to stay for several days, but stayed for six months. His personal life somehow did not really develop. She still hasn’t worked out. The actor was married three times and divorced three times. Has four children from different wives.

“I have a terrible character, I am too emotional, restless. This can be perceived only in small doses, ”the artist admits. He decided to try to become a novice.
Maxim’s mother at some point wanted and was able to get away from worldly life, destroyed the marriage for this. “Mom has a lot of passion and edification. She is demanding of herself and everyone around her. For me, the main thing is that now she is happy,” said the actor.
He himself washed the floors and put things in order in the temple, kneaded the dough from which the prosphora was made. As a result, he remained a churched person, but decided to leave the monastery, because he came to the conclusion:
“It was a mistake: I tried to shift onto the shoulders of the Lord God what I had to do myself: make some decisions, do some actions. I got stronger. I went on.”
“I say to myself: “Don’t grumble”
Today, Maxim’s “track record” includes such well-known paintings as “Penal Battalion”, “Piranha Hunting”, “Liquidation”, “Foundry”, “Molodezhka”. In the near future, four more films with the participation of Drozd will be released. In two of them, Maxim plays the main roles, including in the action movie The Last Oath of Hippocrates.

“Every day I get disappointed and I say to myself: “Don’t grumble.” I doubt every day. Quit this job? No, I definitely won’t. And I, it seems to me, have already begun to understand something in it, finally, ” – the artist says.
