After two consecutive victories, Bienne fell on the ice of Davos (3-2).

At the end of a choppy meeting and with many penalties, Davos collected three important points against Biel in the fight for direct qualification for the play-offs. Solid defensively, the team of Christian Wohlwend won a deserved success which does not suit Geneva and Lausanne.
At the start of the match the plan was clear on the Davos side, to put a lot of pressure on the Biel residents who remained on a match in Bern and a long trip. The tactic paid off as Simon Knak opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a floating shot that surprised van Pottelberghe.
For its part, Biel was too tender in this first period to hope for anything. It was on a personal effort from Luca Hischier that Antti Törmänen’s men were able to pick up the score. Unfortunately for them, this goal was just a flash in the pan. Indeed the Seelanders lacked energy and were too undisciplined in this meeting. Even when they came back to a length late in the game, they never looked like they were in a position to equalise. However, everything is not to be thrown away in this match either for Biel who was excellent in numerical inferiority by not conceding a goal in almost twelve minutes at one or two men less.
Stransky self-sacrificing model
With the scoreline tied, Czech Matej Stransky led the way for his team by blocking a powerful shot from Rajala with his face. A few minutes later, he won a duel against two defenders which was the basis of the triangulation he himself concluded.
The Davosiens definitely took the lead in this meeting in the 46th minute when Sweden’s Rasmussen deflected a pass from his compatriot Nygren. Although better in this part, Graubünden should have won more widely with the many power plays obtained, but these were overused one after the other.
