IEEH begins Debates for Local Councils 2024

The State Electoral Institute of Hidalgo (IEEH) held the first of the 18 Local Debates that will be held among the candidates registered to compete in the Hidalgo 2024 Elections.

This first Debate was held between those competing for District 13 Pachuca de Soto.
In accordance with the provisions of the Guidelines for the organization of these democratic meetings, the opinion of the citizens was considered for the selection of the topics to be debated, as well as in the sending of trigger questions, derived from this exercise, the topics were selected for this first Debate, which were: Gender parity, equality and non-discrimination; Economy and employment and Sustainable Development.

The Debate consisted of 4 blocks, each with a 2-minute slot for each candidacy, so each of them managed their own time in order to guarantee an adequate scenario to carry out replicas.

In this first Debate the Candidates of the Green Ecologist Political Parties of
Mexico; from work; Citizen Movement and Common Candidacies “Strength and Heart”
for Hidalgo” and “Let’s Keep Making History in Hidalgo.”

This activity was transmitted in real time through the social media accounts of this Electoral Body, in addition to being disseminated through various media that joined this Institute in support of maximum dissemination.

The Debate was moderated by Verónica Jiménez Hernández and Laura Violeta Muñoz Solis, who explained the dynamics and rules to be followed by the participants, remembering that each opinion expressed would be the responsibility of whoever expressed it.

During the first block the topic to be discussed was gender parity, equality and non-discrimination. The question, determined by citizens, was: What do you propose so that women feel
Confidence in being able to report workplace harassment in your jobs?

According to the previously established order of participation, the first participant was Adolfo Pontigo Loyola, Candidate of the Labor Party. The second participation was from Andrés Velázquez Vázquez, Candidate for the Common Candidacy “Let’s Continue Making History in Hidalgo”, followed by Fátima Michelle Melo Arteaga, Candidate of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico; then, María Elena Carballal Ogando, Candidate of the Citizen Movement Party, and finally Arturo Rivera Cruz, Candidate of the Common Candidacy “Force and Heart for Hidalgo”.

The Electoral Councils of this Institute, as well as representatives of Political Parties and the media, attended this activity.

Finally, citizens were invited to tune in to the Debate for District 11 Tulancingo de Bravo, which will take place this April 5 at 6:00 p.m. Likewise, citizens were invited to visit the website meet them-hidalgo.mx, a site where you can explore the political and professional career of the candidates participating in the Hidalgo 2024 Elections.
