There are already 107 complaints that the Electoral Institute of the State of Mexico (IEEM) has received within the framework of the 2023 Electoral Process.

The President of the IEEM, Amalia Pulido Gómez, reported that of the total number of complaints or Special Sanctioning Procedures (PES) received, 35 percent are before the institute, while the rest have been sent to the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Mexico.

“To date, we have 107 complaints and denunciations, 35 percent are before the IEEM, that is, we are carrying out the investigation procedures, the others have already been sent to the TEEM, most of them have been resolved,” he said.

On average, he said that the institute takes 12 to 13 days to carry out the necessary procedures and refer the issues to the electoral court, being an expedited process “here we are fully committed to continue processing it,” he said.

If she perceives faults or violations of the electoral law, the counselor indicated that citizens, political parties and actors can file a complaint and with this, the institute give them cause.

After increasing the accusations, disqualifications and electoral positions, Pulido Gómez called for everyone to adhere to the proper period of the inter-campaign, to respect the rules of the game and to make the Agreement for Integrity valid. “This institute is here to ensure fairness in the race,” he commented.
