Al Marsad newspaper: Dr. Michael Mosley revealed his vision for the best time to have dinner if a person wants to keep fit.

Mosley said: “Try to stop eating by 8 pm, and then not eat anything that contains calories following that,” according to the British newspaper “Mirror”.

He added: “It is important to avoid calories close to bedtime, because what you eat later ‘stays in your system longer’.”

He explained that many people eat cheese or biscuits late at night, as snacks, but they give those who eat them a lot of calories.

“We know that the fats and sugars you eat late at night stay stuck in your system much longer because your body shuts down digestion at night,” he noted.

One 2017 study found that obese individuals consumed most of their calories shortly before bed when drowsy evening melatonin levels were ‘high’.

While the researchers explained that they were unable to determine when to stop eating, because everyone has slightly different body clocks, especially the start of the secretion of melatonin.

They concluded that eating your last meal before 3 p.m. was the best way to shed excess weight.
