Ilic as Lebanon national team coach | Gulf newspaper

The Lebanese Football Association announced that it had signed Serbian Aleksandar Ilic as the coach of the first team, to replace Czech Ivan Hashek, whose contract expired regarding four months ago, following the “Men of the Cedars” exited the final round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.

Ilic, 53, will be supervising the Lebanese national team in the preparations for the 2023 Asian Cup finals.

The Serbian obtained the European training certificate “UEFA Pro” in 2008, and he trained Radnichki in 2010, then his first Arab station was with Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia in 2011 for four months, as he was an assistant to the Norwegian coach Trond Soled, and led him to the coronation of the King’s Cup champion, and then led Radnichki to the coronation. Champions of the Serbian League (2011-2012), and twice saved the Saudi pioneer from relegation (2016 and 2018). After that, he led the Iraqi police to win the local Super Cup (2019), and then his last stop was with Al-Qadisiyah of Saudi Arabia last season.
