Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University is organizing a scientific conference entitled “Student Mental Health according to the Saudi Vision 2030”, which will be held – God willing – early next week, on Sunday and Monday, 13-14 Rabi’ The first 1444 AH, corresponding to October 9-10, 2022 AD, coincides with World Mental Health Day.
The President of the University, Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, explained that the conference comes in an effort by the university to highlight the importance of student mental health, and the impact of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs in promoting mental health and quality of life through theoretical and applied scientific studies and research.
Objectives of the Student Mental Health Conference according to Vision 2030 in Riyadh
He indicated that the conference seeks to achieve a number of goals, most notably: identifying the role of mental health in enhancing the quality of life for university students, identifying the role of promoting mental health in raising spending efficiency, developing policies and procedures to promote mental health in educational institutions, and identifying the concept of mental health. The conference also aims to present the leading experiences locally and globally of practices that enhance the mental health of students in universities.
He pointed out that the conference includes a number of speakers and researchers from inside and outside the Kingdom; To present the latest findings of knowledge and scientific research in the field of the conference, indicating that more than 45 speakers and researchers will participate in the conference, who will present more than 30 refereed research papers issued in the scientific record of the conference, in addition to scientific posters for undergraduate and graduate students. There is an exhibition accompanying the conference, in which the most important national institutions concerned with promoting mental health from the public and private sectors will participate; To exchange experiences and build partnerships and cooperation that contribute to professional integration to enhance the mental health of the community and raise the efficiency of quality of life.

Al-Amri stated that there are a set of workshops accompanying the conference approved by the Commission for Health Specialties to educate and train health practitioners and students specialized in this field and provide them with the latest skills and knowledge in the field of mental health, psychology and psychiatry.
