Implementation of the HIS system in Health services benefits patients and doctors

Asunción, IP Agency.- Some 27 Public Health establishments from 18 health regions of the country that joined the Health Information System (HIS) in April, totaling 399 healthcare centers that reduce waiting time in offices, for the benefit of patients and doctors.

This digital transformation is addressed by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPyBS) and the Technical Mission of the Republic of China (Taiwan), through the “Project for Improving Efficiency in the Management of Health Informatics ( Phase II)”, and has the support of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MITIC), KOICA, Itaipú, the World Bank and the IDB.

There were also 3,942,394 consultations registered in 2024 and 22,798,711 since its inception in 2017, in addition to 4,000,000 patients treated to date.

The implementation of the HIS highlights the constant growth in recent months and allows us to streamline and improve the quality of care processes, collects data in real time, allows us to know the pharmacy stock, records the clinical history of each patient, among other benefits for the health service, the medical professional and the user.

Services that implemented the HIS in April this year are the Hospital Itacurubí del Rosario – San Pedro; Lima- San Pedro and Choré – San Pedro Health Centers; as well as the Carlos A. López Health Units – Itapúa; 3 Uruguay and Puerta del Sol borders, both of Central.

In addition to the USF Caraguataymi – Caaguazú; Tacuatí – Expanded and Lima of San Pedro; Santa Teresa and Colony Box Two of Caaguazú; Itá Ybu – Guairá and the Great Hill of Paraguarí.
