An important operation has been carried out since Friday night and this Saturday morning by the Federal Police with the objective of disrupting a sect which operates in Buenos Aires and is suspected of stealing money and property from its victims. The person in charge of the building where the criminal gang would operate maintained that they only meet there to read philosophy.
During the operation, 6 people were arrested and 502 raids were carried out in different locations that the organization would have that operated capturing vulnerable people for sexual and labor exploitation.
One of the raids was carried out in a building in Villa Crespo where the Buenos Aires Yoga School Foundation operates, which would be the organization’s headquarters.
According to the investigation, the people who were captured by the sect they were subjected to “various treatments with medication that altered their wills”, so that they would sign powers of attorney for their assets in favor of the members of the organization. There are an estimated 300 victims.
The person in charge of the Villa Crespo building, Bárbara, spoke with TN and he said that when the police entered to carry out the raid “there were about 50 people reading philosophy and having a coffee.”
The young woman maintains that only yoga classes are held in the place and they meet to discuss philosophy books. “There are no minors here and no one is forced to do anything. They have already investigated us and all were dismissed in the case. I do not understand why they insist. There is nothing here,” said the woman.
