International singer Celine Dion announced, on Thursday, that she had a “very rare neurological syndrome” that forced her once again to postpone concerts she was scheduled to perform in Europe as part of her “Carriage World Tour”.
The star, who hails from the Canadian province of Quebec, was affected in a video clip she posted on her Instagram account, in which she explained that she had been suffering from “health problems for a long time.”
“I was recently diagnosed with a very rare neurological disease, Stiff Person Syndrome,” she said.
Because of this disease, which translates into a progressive stiffness of the muscles, Celine Dion began to suffer from walking difficulties, while the disorder also prevented her from “using her vocal cords” in the way she wanted, according to the singer.
“It saddens me a lot to have to inform you today that I will not be ready to complete my tour of Europe in February,” she added, stressing that an “excellent team of doctors” is taking care of her health condition.
Dion’s European tour was scheduled to resume at the end of February from the Czech Republic.
It is noteworthy that Dion performed the first 52 concerts of the tour before the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. Then, last January, the Canadian star announced the cancellation of her concerts in North America as part of this tour due to her suffering from health problems.
