In Guárico they design a system to identify false dentists

Within the framework of the Day of the Dentist, commemorated on October 3, the board of directors of the college that associates oral health professionals in the state of Guárico, announced the creation of a system that allows citizens to identify the illegal exercise of this profession.

Manuel Tapia, president of the College of Dentists of the Llanera region, stressed that they are “creating a system where the patient population can get involved, and investigate a little about which dentists are certified and duly accredited by the college.”

He argued that the association has been supported by the police forces, specifically by the Division of Investigation of Crimes against Public Health, promoted by the Corps of Criminal and Criminalistic Scientific Investigations (Cicpc), in order to neutralize the scourges committed by false dentists. .

Stop fake dentists

Tapia mentioned that, in the Guariqueña entity “there have been cases where police agencies have taken action against some people who, illegally, practice the profession,” pointing out that so far they have accounted for 8 people reported and treated at the same time.

“Many of the cases have come to us from patients who, looking for a better price for some treatment, go to unsuitable places where iatrogenesis and malpractice have been committed,” explained the president of the guild.

In this sense, he explained that after the reports, the authorities are in charge of following up the case, until they locate the individual who acts against the proper practice of the exercise.

How to identify an accredited dentist?

He also indicated that for the identification of accredited professionals, the Autonomous Health Comptroller Service “has provided minimum specifications to adapt the offices, mainly highlighting the exhibition or public view of the title of the dental professional.”

Meanwhile, Tapia emphasized that day by day they pursue the dignity and enhancement of the union, and one of the actions taken to achieve these objectives has been the proximity to the corresponding organizations, in order to adjust the salary a little and obtain more benefits for these oral health professionals.

“The doors of the College of Dentists are open to serve, protect, unify and dignify. Together we make a greater force and we will be able to achieve the objectives that are set for us”, emphasized the highest authority of the association.

They propose expansion in dentistry studies

José Ángel Torrealba Torres, rector of the “Rómulo Gallegos” National Experimental University of the Central Plains, announced that, together with the State College of Dentists, “we have launched an integration aimed at pursuing postgraduate studies and doctorates for this beautiful area.”

He specified that in the last four years, the house of studies has graduated a little more than 2,500 dentists, and highlighted an increase of more than 105% of those enrolled in this university career.

“Our emblematic university is focused on new paths and horizons”, praised Torrealba.
