In Switzerland, employment is in good shape and it should last

All indicators are green regarding the Swiss job market. In its monthly publication, the State Secretariat for the Economy announced a decline in the number of job seekers in March. When an investigation de l’Adecco Group Swiss Job Market Index from the University of Zurich had a record number of job vacancies in Switzerland. This Tuesday, May 3, the employment indicator calculated by the economic research center of ETH Zurich (KOF) reached a record number: 14.8.

What it means. The KOF of ETH Zurich publishes a quarterly study on the employment indicator. A way of measuring the health of the Swiss job market, carried out among 4,500 companies. Established at 12.2 points (revised from 11.5) in the first quarter of 2022, the indicator reached 14.8 points in the second quarter. According to the research center, these results “suggest a very pleasing evolution of employment for the months to come, all sectors combined”.
