Vienna (OTS) – The fate of the “Titan” submersible, which was missing in the North Atlantic, moved people around the world for days. It is now sad certainty that the boat may have imploded. All five people on board are dead, including businessmen who paid a large sum to explore the wreckage of the Titanic that sank in 1912. What motivates people to take life-threatening adventures like this? To what extent do exclusivity and thrill play a role? Athletes are also willing to push their limits in various extreme sports. Where is the fine line between top sporting performance and unreasonable risk? What drives people to put themselves in extreme situations?
