After EC Salzburg (4:0 against Fehérvár AV19), EC-KAC (4:1 against EC VSV) and the Vienna Capitals (4:2 against Innsbruck), HCB Südtirol (3:2- Home win in the seventh and decisive duel for the 4:3 series win against the Black Wings Linz) for the second playoff round in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The starting field for the semifinals is formed by the four clubs that have shared all the championships since 2013.
Since the principle of re-seeding (best-placed team from the basic round against the lowest-ranked team) is used in the ICE when forming the semi-final pairings, it is clear that the EC-KAC in the semifinals with last year’s champion, the EC Salzburg, will measure.
