Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris said that the news about the death of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny is confirmation that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “brutal person”. This is her opinion expressed during a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“Yesterday we heard the news that Oleksiy Navalny died. I met with his wife Yulia. I expressed my disgust about it,” Harris said.
She added that Navalny “spoke against corruption and autocracy, he stood for the truth.”
“The news of his death is a confirmation that Putin is a brutal person. And that is why we need to continue to support Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting heroically against this brutality,” said the US vice president.

As UNIAN reported, it became known on February 16 that Navalny died in a Russian colony. As reported by the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service, the politician suddenly became ill after a walk. Doctors could not resuscitate him.
Subsequently, the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmytro Peskov, accused the West of making “crazy statements” about Navalny’s death. According to him, there is no evidence against Russia regarding the politician’s death.
