Al-Marsad newspaper: Mental health specialist Dr. Jamil Al-Hawas revealed a shocking figure for the divorce rate in the Kingdom this year.
He said in an interview with the “Ya Hala” program on “Rotana Khaleejia” channel, that there is a divorce case every 9 minutes in the Kingdom, at a rate of 7 divorce cases per hour and 170 per day.
He added that the number of divorce cases has recently increased, indicating that in 2010 it reached 9,000 cases, then the numbers rose to 34,000 cases in 2011.
He added that the number of divorce cases this year amounted to regarding 60,000.
