Al-Marsad newspaper: Legal practitioner Najla Al-Qahtani explained that the car insurance is paid by the renter, and banks and finance companies benefit from it.
Al-Qahtani said during an interview with the “National Rabea” program broadcast on Al-Arabiya channel: These practices exist, but we cannot generalize them because there are companies that adhere to global practices that benefit the beneficiaries.
And she continued, “There are companies, after they get the insurance amount, they turn the car into a damaged one and return it to the renter, although the insurance is the right of the car user, so if it is the right of the beneficiary, but unfortunately the financing companies obtain it, then the companies estimate the amounts paid by the beneficiary as rent.
She added: These practices are wrong because the beneficiary pays installments with the aim of owning, and this did not happen. Noting that these are unfair practices that harm the beneficiaries, so we demand the existence of regular procedures and control over these unfair practices.
