In the video.. the Minister of Commerce reveals the reasons for the high prices of some commodities in the Kingdom, other than neighboring countries

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Minister of Commerce, Majed Al-Qasabi, revealed the reasons for the rise of some commodities in the Kingdom, other than its neighboring countries.

Al-Qasabi said, during his speech at the Government Communications Conference: “Prices have been affected and rose all over the world, but they differ from country to country, and there are countries where the price is related to supply and demand, because some governments support some commodities.”

He continued: “In the Kingdom, we have subsidized flour, the price is lower than other countries. We also have other unsubsidized commodities, such as rice and sugar, that are lower than neighboring countries.”

He continued: “The most important thing is that we have a monitoring mechanism for 217 commodities, and we monitor and take all appropriate measures to confront any manipulation or exaggeration in prices.”
