Al-Ahly’s match against Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia in the Club World Cup witnessed the opposition of Walid Suleiman, the team leader, as he sat as a substitute for Ahmed Abdel-Qader and Ali Maaloul, after they reviewed the ball after advancing with two early goals.
Al-Ahly won a wide victory over Al-Hilal, who was playing with nine players, by four goals, yesterday, Saturday, in the match to determine the third place in the Club World Cup, to be crowned the African champions with the bronze medal of the tournament for the third time in its history.
Imad Miteb, the former Al-Ahly star, said in the hospitality of the “On Time Sports 2” channel: “There is a snapshot that many did not notice, which is that Walid Suleiman asked on the line Ahmed Abdel Qader and Ali Maaloul not to disrespect the players of Al Hilal.”
He added, “Walid Suleiman did this so that the scenario of Ramadan Sobhi, for example, and what happened in front of Zamalek (after standing on the ball) would not be repeated in order to maintain the team’s focus until the end of the match and ensure victory.”
Imad Miteb continued: “The skill is there, there is no problem in passing through players in an aesthetic way (in a bridge), we do not like, as senior players, to display the ball in front of the opposing team’s players, the fun is to win and impose control.”
And he concluded, “Such matters bring the opposing team back to the match sometimes, after the incident of Ramadan Sobhi in the Egyptian Super match, Zamalek could have returned in the result, especially since it reduced the result after what happened.”
It is noteworthy that Walid Suleiman announced after the end of the match his retirement from football at the end of the current season 2021/2022 after the end of his contract with the Red Castle next summer.
