Currently, traveling 300 km costs around 10 euros with home charging, and 40 euros with fast charging (compared to around 30 euros with a combustion engine). The calculation remains unfavorable to more powerful electric vehicles, such as SUVs, which consume more.
The French electric fleet was estimated, in July 2022, at 620,000 vehicles, or 1.5% of the rolling stock. If it is necessary to continue to deploy charging stations in France, it is necessary to favor the installation of low and medium power stations, and to recharge rather at night, to avoid saturating the electricity network.
