Cortés noted the significant participation of students with disabilities in cultural activities, such as reading, dance, and theater, and emphasized the acceptance and support they receive from their peers.
The Instituto Calarcá partners with the Enlazar foundation to provide comprehensive support to students with disabilities. This collaboration includes providing meals and a supplementary afternoon program from noon to 4:00 p.m., focused on cultural activities that complement the school’s curriculum. A dedicated team of teachers, psychologists, and interpreters further supports these students, enabling them to pursue their studies and future goals.
Moreno shared his evolving perspective on inclusion, stating that interacting with students who have overcome significant challenges has broadened his understanding of their capabilities and potential. Zamudio echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the institution’s dedication to providing opportunities for those often overlooked by society. The school, with over 91 years of history, is described as a vibrant center for learning and a symbol of hope for a better future.
