NEW DELHI: Amid diplomatic spats with Canada, government circles are mulling stronger measures. Quoting government sources, a national media reported that the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards of ‘problems’ may be cancelled. Related sources also said that the government may initiate this action against ‘certain individuals’ on a ‘case-by-case’ basis.
Officials concerned said that it is the firm stand of the Center that holding the Khalistan flag and earning from agricultural land in India cannot go together. They also stated that the action will be taken in the light of protests against Indian diplomatic offices abroad. Senior officials said the government was disappointed that some students, who had recently gone abroad on study visas, protested in front of Indian diplomatic offices.
