In the 193-member assembly, 107 countries, including India, rejected Russia’s demand for a secret vote on the draft resolution condemning the annexation of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson provinces to Russia. Only 13 countries favored secret ballot. 39 countries including China abstained. The motion was introduced by Albania.

Russia appealed once morest the action of the President of the General Assembly, who decided that a public vote on the resolution was sufficient. 104 countries including India voted once morest the review while 16 countries voted in favor. 34 countries abstained.
