India Women vs England Women: Third T20 Match Highlights and Results

Mumbai: Despite losing the Twenty20 series against England, Indian women won the final match with a consolation. Indian women won by five wickets in the match held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. England won the toss and elected to bat and scored 126 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, India reached the target with the loss of five wickets with one over to spare. England women won the first two matches and won the series.

India’s top scorer is opener Smriti Manthana, who fell two runs short of a half-century. Smriti scored 48 runs off 48 balls with five fours and two sixes and was dismissed in the 17th over. Jamima Rodriguez (29 off 33 balls), Deepti Sharma (12 off 11 balls) and Amanjot Kaur (10 not out off four balls) also shone.

Earlier, captain Heather Knight’s smashing half-century saw England build a good score. Knight scored 52 runs off 42 balls with three sixes and a four each. Amy Jones was dismissed for 25 off 21 balls. Charlie Dean remained unbeaten on 16 off 15 balls. Saika Isaac and Shreyanka Patil took three wickets each for India.
