Los Angeles: A proud moment for India at the 64th Grammy Awards. Ricky Kejin and Falguni Shack of Indian descent receive Grammy Awards Ricky Cage won the award for Best New Album. Falguni Shah’s achievement in the Best Children’s Album category.

Ricky Cage has won the second Grammy Award of his career at an event in Las Vegas. ‘Divine Tides’, with music by rock legend Stuart Copeland, was voted Best Album. The award went to Falguni Shah’s album ‘A Colorful World’.

Born in North Carolina, USA, Ricky Cage moved to his parents’ hometown of India, Bangalore, when he was eight years old. Although he studied dentistry, Ricky realized that music was his career and was moving forward that way. In 2015, his album ‘Wind Talk’ won a Grammy Award. Ricky, who accompanied Copeland on stage, greeted the audience with a ‘Namaste’ award. Ricky is also an environmental activist.

Born in Mumbai, Falguni Shah Ustad immigrated to the United States in 2000 after studying music under Sultan Khan at the Jaipur Gharana. This is Falguni’s first Grammy Award, nicknamed Fallu. The much-anticipated Korean music band BTS failed to win the award. Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab’s song ‘Mohabbat’ also won a Grammy Award. Meanwhile, the failure to commemorate legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar and music director Buppi Lahuri at the Grammy Awards was controversial. It has been widely criticized on social media.
