Tel Aviv: Two women security personnel of Indian origin were killed in Israel-Hamas conflict. Lieutenant Orr Moses and Inspector Kim Dockreker were killed. Lieutenant Orr Moses was serving in the Home Front Command. Kim Dockrecker was a Border Officer in the Police Central District.
Both were killed in a Hamas attack on October 7. According to Israel, 286 military personnel and 51 policemen have been killed so far. Israel also stated that many security personnel who were not involved in this may have been killed.
At the same time, earlier reports had surfaced that two young Indian women were working as part of the Israeli forces in the war against Hamas. Jivabhai runs a shop in Tel Aviv. Jeevabhai said that her daughter Nisha has been working as part of the Israeli forces for the past two years on the borders of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. Some national media reports that Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his wife visited Jeevabha’s house last time they visited Tel Aviv.
In Israel, those over the age of 18 are required to perform compulsory military service. The duration of compulsory military service is two years and eight months for men and two years for women.
