The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Shreyas Iyer will not play in India’s Asia Cup Super Four stage match against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. The player, who suffered a back injury, is currently under remote monitoring by the BCCI medical team, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff and the Indian team management.

India is full of confidence after getting a brilliant win against Pakistan. However, there is no doubt that the rain gods will conquer the grounds of Sri Lanka even today. Rain is likely to spoil the match time again. According to Accuweather’s report, there is an 84 percent chance of rain on the afternoon of September 12.

There is a 34 percent chance of thunderstorms at the start of the match. Some good reports have a 55 percent chance of rain as the day progresses. That means the game may go on even if the over has to be cut short.

India registered a 228-run victory over Pakistan in the first match of the Asia Cup Cricket Super Four. Chasing the target of 357 runs set by India, Pakistan were all out for 128 runs in 32 overs. Kuldeep Yadav took five wickets for India.
