Lisbon: There has been a significant increase in the number of work visas granted by Portugal to Cape Verdeans over the past four years.
4948 visas have been granted this year alone. This is regarding 60 more than the total number of work visas granted in the last four years.
The number of long-term visa applications received at the Portuguese Consulate in Cape Verde since the beginning of this year is 8,686. Of these, 95.8 percent are qualified to be recognized.

In 2022, only 1049 visas were granted for the first eight months. Only 353 visa applications were rejected this year, which is only 4.2 percent of the total applications.
