The Indian team is going through huge tests in the upcoming ODI World Cup. In the two matches of the ODI series against the West Indies, India came out with changes in the batting order. India is repeating such tests as a part of preparing new young players for the World Cup. However, India’s batting collapse in the second match is causing concern.

But Indian player Wasim Jaffer says that India still needs to continue such experiments. Jaffer believes that India should give more opportunities to all-rounder Akshar Patel in their team and prepare him for the World Cup.

Jaffer made this clear before the second ODI. Jaffer said that India should include Akshar in the squad for the second ODI. “We have seen the balls turn in Windies. So India needs to play Akshar Patel in the upcoming matches. Akshar can do the role of a spinner beautifully. And by bringing Akshar into the team, the team will also get a quality batsman,” Jaffer said.

Jaffer also said that Akshar will play a big role in the ODI World Cup. “Now if we play Akshar it might turn out to be good. Perhaps we don’t need the letter here. However, Akshar Patel can play a big role for India in the World Cup. Akshar will also become a colorful presence in ODI cricket in the coming time. Therefore, instead of another fast bowler, India should place Akshar in the team for the next matches.”- Wasim Jaffer adds.

Akshar did not perform well in the second match against West Indies. Akshar Patel came to the crease fourth in the match and scored only one run off 8 balls. Akshar was also unable to bowl many overs in the match. Akshar conceded only 4 runs in just two overs. However, India lost the match. India’s unexpected defeat in the match was by 6 wickets.
