(NASA Photo: Ingenuity NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Helicopter, Aug. 16, 2023) LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) — On Wednesday ( August 16) US NASA reported that “Ingenuity” (Ingenuity), the organization’s Mars exploration helicopter Ingenuity has completed 55 flights on Mars. The helicopter took off for the 55th time on Aug. 12. It can fly up to 10 meters and a distance of 264 meters in 143 seconds. It was brought to Mars by the Persevia Rennes surface probe. NASA’s Perseverance lander landed at Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021, and is also the first technological demonstration to test powered flight on another planet. This helicopter is designed to fly for up to 90 seconds, a distance of almost 300 meters at a time, and a height of about 3-4.5 meters from the surface.
