Innovation & Startup: An NGO for healthier social networks

It is a former employee of Facebook who is at the origin of this idea for the less original. On September 23, this woman came out of silence to announce the creation of his NGO. She launched the NGO Beyond the Screen the purpose of which is to fight against failures social networks she has seen throughout his career.

A new NGO

This is the first time that an NGO is entirely devoted to social networks. This engineer and ex-employee of Facebook had already been talked about last year by explaining that the American giant did not assume its responsibilities and was at the origin of many faults.

Its goal is to offer solutions to help users regain control. Suffice to say that the mission is sizeable, especially since it is very aware of the situation and has every intention of changing the order of things…

An interesting solution

Frances Haugen has noticed that users are increasingly losing control of social networks, and are not necessarily aware of it. She therefore decided with her NGO to prove through official documents the legal and ethical shortcomings of the major social networks, and not just Facebook, which she knows so well.

You should know that the NGO Beyond the Screen is funded by Project Liberty, an initiative of Frank McCourt, and independent organization Common Sense Media. This project is already making a lot of noise, especially in the United States, and Mark Zuckerberg should not be long in reacting. However, we must admit that the idea is interesting and above all far from meaningless… For the moment, we don’t know more, but we are impatiently awaiting the consequences of the birth of this NGO not all just like the others!
