Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the visit program included holding a workshop in cooperation between the General Secretariat for Mental Health, the Egyptian Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Hepatitis Viruses Committee, and the World Health Organization, on the program for managing viral hepatitis infection and HIV infection. human immunity.
Abdel Ghaffar indicated that the workshops aim to exchange experiences, visions and modern ideas in the field of virus eradication, in addition to reviewing the pioneering experience of the Egyptian state in eradicating hepatitis C.
In her speech, Dr. Menen Abdel-Maksoud, Secretary-General of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, explained that the number of virus clinics affiliated to the Mental Health Secretariat is 21, noting that 40,264 cases of visitors to virus clinics have been examined from 2021 to 2023.
Dr. Menen Abdel Maqsoud added that the doctors of the virology clinics in the mental health hospitals, a number of officials of the HIV departments in the governorates, and the doctors of the diet hospitals, have received extensive training on the program for managing viral hepatitis and HIV infections.
