Instagram simplifies the recovery of access to its account and deploys new measures to prevent hacking.
Instagram is currently introducing new tools for security. Among these, a dedicated hub where users can report and resolve problems accessing their account, if any. This should be very useful for those who have had their account hacked and are having difficulty regaining access.
Instagram makes it easy to recover access to your account
If you are unable to log in to your account, you can go to the hub on the Instagram site. Instagram will then ask you to explain your problem: hacked account, forgotten password, loss of verification method for two-factor authentication, identity theft or suspended account. Once the problem is indicated, follow the instructions given and you should be able to recover your account.
One method you can use to confirm that an account is yours is to ask other users to confirm your identity. If you find yourself unable to access your account, you can ask two friends on Instagram to confirm your identity. Instagram started testing this feature a few months ago, it is now available to everyone. Your friends will have 24 hours to respond to your request and if they do, Instagram will allow you to reset your password.

At the same time, Instagram explains that it uses more measurement to avoid the piracy of account. The service removes accounts that the system deems malicious, such as those that impersonate. A new test involves sending you a warning “if an account we find suspicious might be impersonating someone to track you”. In the coming months, Instagram will begin issuing these warnings to those who receive direct messages from an account that is a clone of a business account.
And on top of that, you’ll start seeing blue badges for verified accounts in more places on the platform. Besides profiles, you will now see them in Stories and DMs. This badge will also soon appear in the News Feed. Instagram explains that this will help users know if the account they are interacting with or want to interact with is legitimate.
