O Instagram announced this Thursday (15) the global release of Transmission Channels on the platform, a new tool for content creators to communicate quickly and on a large scale with their audience.
According to the social network, the new feature can be used by anyone who wants to have a direct channel with followers, fans or friends. The new can be accessed in the DM section (direct messages), by clicking on “Suggested channels”.
The platform highlighted that any Instagram user can discover a new broadcast channel and view the content, but only followers who subscribe to the channel will receive a notification whenever there are updates.
Also according to the social network, when creating a new channel, all the followers of those who created it will receive a notification. In addition, it will be possible to publicize the space in Stories through a sticker, which will redirect the user through a direct link.
The link generated for the channel can be fixed in the bio of the creator’s profile or shared by members of the space with friends. Notifications can also be controlled, including silenced. Broadcast channels are displayed in the input box.
This tool began to be tested by Instagram in February. In Brazil, some transmission channels were recently launched, among them artists such as Sabrina Sato and Alok, and content creators such as Lucas Rangel and João Pedro Motta.
Finally, Instagram stressed that all content published on the channels is also subject to community rules. Therefore, publications that violate the rules will be identified by specific tools and removed for possible abuse.
