Insurers deny mintransporte: medical care for accident victims is not at risk | Nation

Las insurance companies denied the Minister of Transport, Guillermo Reyes, who said this Wednesday that the lack of SOAT policies was affecting the lives of drivers and pedestrians.

Reyes met with the bikers’ union and he promised to study discounts in the SOAT and suspend control operations until the problems with the sale of this insurance are resolved.

“It is not true that the lack of a current SOAT is putting the lives of drivers, pedestrians or any victim of traffic accidents at risk,” Fasecolda said in a statement.

Fasecolda explained that each current policy provides additional resources so that the health system cares for the victims of a traffic accident when there are ghost cars or there is no SOAT in force.

All accident victims “They have the right to the same medical attention”, what changes is that with a valid SOAT the cost of that care is assumed by the insurance company.
