Experts of the insurance company “Consent” told about the largest payments for car theft in 2023. The top three included incidents that occurred in Moscow and the Moscow region.
Thus, the most expensive theft occurred in the Moscow region: attackers stole a two-year-old white Toyota Land Cruiser Prado from the parking lot, which was listed in the fleet of one of the companies. The car was insured for 4.046 million rubles, and this amount was fully paid to the client.
The second most expensive stolen car also belonged to a legal entity. Silver Infiniti QX80 disappeared from one of the Moscow parking lots. Insurance compensation amounted to more than 3.8 million rubles.
The top three most expensive thefts also included a red Lexus NX300, which disappeared from a parking lot in the yard. Almost 3.1 million rubles were paid to its owner.
As noted in “Consent”, in other regions the hijackings turned out to be less damage. For example, the most expensive theft of a car in St. Petersburg was the theft of a Nissan X-Trail from one of the city’s parking lots. Almost 1.5 million rubles were paid out under insurance. In Tver, for a stolen 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander, the payment exceeded 1.3 million rubles. And the payment for the 2013 Hyundai Solaris stolen in Vologda amounted to 490 thousand rubles.
