Internet in Belgium: here is the best operator, depending on your region

Every year the internet connection is screened in our flat country. While the operators offering Internet connections are as numerous as our ministers despite the small area of our country, it turns out that not all offer the same speeds depending on the region. However, four operators, the most well-known in the country, rightly stand out from this nPerf barometer (VOO, Proximus, Telenet and Orange).

Analyzing the data issued by the company, it can be noted first of all that the Flemish population is lucky to have the best average speeds in the country: the download is on average encrypted at 143 Mb/s, and the amount at 25 Mb/s.

As for the latency, it is located at about 21 ms. Orange has offered its subscribers the best fixed Internet performance in this region, especially by standing out on its uplink speed, with more than 36 Mb / s, very far ahead of its competitors, and a very good latency of 17.4 ms, the only one below 20 ms. “Telenet does not let itself be outstripped on the downlink speed, where it wins the battle with 173.5 Mb / s, more than 20 Mb / s ahead of Orange, but below of its performance in the capital,” says nPerf in the details of its barometer.

The population of Brussels was able to take advantage of an average downlink speed of 130 Mb /s and an average uplink speed of 22 Mb /s. As for the average latency, it is about 20 ms, so it is the best of the three Belgian regions. Telenet has offered its subscribers the best fixed Internet performance in this region, particularly by standing out on its top-down speed, the only one to reach and exceed 200 Mb / s, far ahead of VOO which is exactly at the regional average level. Proximus, on the other hand, has the best bit rate (27.1 Mb/s) and VOO wins latency (16.7 Mb/s).

Wallonia receives the palm of the least good connectivity

As for Wallonia, the inhabitants were able to take advantage of an average downlink speed of 112 Mb /s and an average uplink speed of 15 Mb /s. As for the average latency, it is about 23 ms. Unfortunately, these are the worst national results on each of the indicators.

VOO has offered its subscribers the best fixed Internet performance in this region. The operator stands out in particular thanks to its top-down speed of 158 Mb/s, very far ahead of its opponents, and also gains latency, with a correct level of 20.3 ms.

On the other hand, Proximus is winning the battle for the rising speed, as in Brussels, but at a lower average speed, with 16.4 Mb / s. Overall, in comparison with other regions of the country, the performance of fixed Internet connections in the Walloon region, all operators combined, is the lowest in the country, and this is verified by the average scores.
