The Saudi authorities have launched the electronic visa service (e-visa) for travelers from 12 countries, including Morocco. According to a statement from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation, released on Saturday, this measure cancels the old formula requiring a visa sticker to be affixed to the traveler’s passport for work, tourist visit and residence visas. .

The application of the electronic visa system will soon be implemented in Saudi diplomatic missions and consulates in Morocco, Turkey, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Uganda, Lebanon, Nepal, Kenya, Thailand , Vietnam and Sri Lanka. According to the same source, the date of implementation of the decision will differ from one country to another, depending on the logistics made available to allow the transition to the e-visa.

Last January, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the electronic visa issuance service for travelers arriving by air to perform Umrah in Mecca, visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, or participate in tourist events. .
